Dordt College Volleyball vs. GPAC Semifinals-Doane

November 9, 2005

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Lady Defenders turned away the Doane Tigers in Great Plains Athletic Conference play tonight 3-0. The Lady Defenders won a tense game one 30-24 that featured seven ties, the last one at 13-13.

Game two found the Lady Defenders down 12-6 and out of timeouts. The hosts fought back with seven points in a row and never trailed again in the match winning game two 30-23 and game three 30-22.

Tara De Boer, limited to two kills in game one, had 20 kills in games two and three for a total of 22 while Kristin De Ronde banged out 14. Lindsey Van Wyk had 11 and Emily Van Voorst put up 52 assists.

Dordt had five diggers with notable numbers, Steph Helmus had 18, Lindsey Van Wyk and Jill Haan 17 and Traci Kooima 15.

Doane was led by Alison Weaver's 10 kiolls.
