Dordt College Volleyball vs. Northwestern

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Lady Defenders banged out a 3-0 win over in-county rival Northwestern in Great Plains Athletic Conference volleyball.
The Lady Defenders won game one 30-18 and led start to finish in game two for a 30-11 win. Game three was a battle through-out with the two teams tied seven times before they reached 11-11. Northwestern edged in front by a five point cushion at 18-13 and maintained that lead at 23-18. The Lady Defenders came back to cut it to 23-22 but the Red Raiders stretched it out to 26-23. The Lady Defenders mounted one more charge, tying it at 26. The two were tied at 27, 28 and again at 29 after the Red Raiders served for the game. Dordt took the lead at 30-29 and Northwestern tied it at 30 and 31 before Dordt College closed it out on a pair of points for a final of 33-31.
Dordt was led by Tara De Boer's 18 kills while Rachel Van Beek and Jill Haan had 13 and 12 respectively. Emily Van Voorst put up 57 assists and Traci Kooima led the diggers with 19. Lindsey Van Wyk and Jill Haan each had 18 digs a piece.
Northwestern was led by Karissa Davelaar with 16 kills and Allison Waggie had 16 digs.
