Dordt College Volleyball vs. Briar Cliff

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Lady Defenders swept past Briar Cliff in volleyball action Monday night at the De Witt Gym on Dordt's campus 3-0.

The Lady Defenders led game one and three from start to finish. Game two featured nine ties, the last of which was at 14-14.

Tara De Boer had 17 kills to pace the Lady Defenders while Rachel Van Beek had 13. Renee Beiermann led Briar Cliff with eight kills. Emily Van Voorst put up 43 assists while Jill Haan and Traci Kooima both had 13 digs to pace the Lady Defenders.

The win gives Dordt College at least a share of the conference title and the Lady Defenders will attempt to complete a perfect conference season with their season finale on Wednesday. The win assures the Lady Defenders of the number one seed in the GPAC post-season volleyball tournament which begins on Saturday, November 6.
