Dordt College Volleyball vs. Mount Marty

September 21, 2004

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Lady Defenders turned away a stubborn Mount Marty volleyball team 3-0 in Great Plains Athletic Conference play. Dordt pulled away 30-20 in game one. Game two was a dramatically different story with Dordt leading 23-18 only to see Mount Marty tie it at 25. The Lady Defenders then pulled away to a 30-27 decision.

Game three was tight as well with 14 ties, the last one coming at 19 before Dordt pulled away for their fourteenth match win in a row to start the season.

Amanda Eekhoff led a balanced Dordt attack with 15 while Rachel Van Beek and Tara De Boer also hit double figures with 10. Emily Van Voorst led Dordt with 28 assists and Tara De Boer had two ace serves. Traci Kooima led Dordt College with 16 digs and Lindsey Van Wyk had 15.

Mount Marty was topped by Katie Prunty's 10 kills and Kristin Wortman's eight.
