Dordt College Volleyball vs. Georgetown (Kentucky)--NAIA National Tournament
December 4, 2003
(San Diego, California) The Dordt Lady Defenders improved to 3-0 in pool D at the NAIA national volleyball tournament with a 3-2 win over Georgetown College. The Lady Defenders won game one handily 30-22 but dug themselves a hole in game two trailing 6-1. The Lady Defenders would get back to within one on numerous occasions but were unable to take the lead and Georgetown won 30-25.
Game three had Dordt winning 30-22 and looked like they were on their way to a win but the Lady Defenders lost a late lead and Georgetown snuck away with the win 30-27. Dordt led at one point 27-26 in game four.
Game five had Dordt pulling out to a 5-1 lead only to see the Tigers cut the lead down to one point on three occasions, the last time at 9-8. Dordt salted the game away with a late surge winning 15-10.
Tara De Boer had 19 kills, Rachel Pontier 15 and Rachel Van Beek 13. Alisa Den Hartog put up 62 assists while Jill Bouma, Tricia Beckering and Lindsey Van Wyk had 27, 26 and 23 digs respectively.
Dordt is now 3-0 in pool play.
