(West Palm Beach, FL) The 14th ranked Dordt College Lady Defenders won their season opener tonight in the Palm Beach Atlantic Welcome Classic in West Palm Beach, Florida. Dordt defeated Saint Thomas of Florida 3-0, by the game scores of 15-9, 15-9, 16-14. Senior Karen Netz dominated the offense with 16 kills, and freshman, and former Western prep, Alisa Kooima (the 1999 Iowa setter-of-the-year) lofted 35 assists in her first collegiate match. Kooima also fired four aces serves in the win. Dordt is now 1-0 this season.
