Dordt College Volleyball vs. Sioux Falls

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The 11th rated Dordt Lady Defenders fought off an upset minded Sioux Falls Cougar team this evening in Great Plains Athletic Conference volleyball. The Lady Defenders took game one by a 31-29 final after 16 ties. The Cougars had game point serve and couldn't convert in game one.

In game two the Lady Defenders had a commanding 18-12 lead only to see the Cougars rip off eight of the next nine points to take the lead for good in the game, winning by a 30-26 score.

Game thre had the Lady Defenders leading from start to finish and game four was reminiscent of game two in that Dordt held a big lead late at 22-13 only to see Sioux Falls tie it at 28 before the hosts won it 30-28.

Dordt was led by Tara De Boer's 20 kills while Rachel Pontier put down 16. Megan Groeneweg, filling in for the injured Alisa Den Hartog at setter was good for 49 assists and Jill Bouma had five assists to go along with 12 kills and three ace serves. Tricia Beckering and Lindsey Van Wyk had 22 and 21 digs respectivley.

Sioux Falls was led by Jill Streiff's 12 kills and Teresa Kloeckner's 10.
