Dordt College Volleyball vs. Dakota State

September 27, 2003

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt Lady Defenders swept Dakota State this evening, winning a 3-0 decision. Dordt gave up the first point to DSU in the first game, then went on a 8-point run to break open the game. The Defenders went up by as many as 12 points en route to the win.

Game two featured three ties through the early points, the last coming at 8-8, before the Defenders gradually built a lead and got the win.

Game three also featured a close battle early before Dordt went on a six-point run to break a 6-6 tie and take the lead. Dakota State fought back late, but it wasn't enough as the Defenders took the game and the match.

Dordt was led in kills tonight by Rachel Pontier with 15 and Tara De Boer with 12. Tricia Beckering had 26 digs, and freshman Lindsey Van Wyk had 4 ace serves for the Defenders.
