Dordt College Volleyball vs. Morningside College

September 10, 2003

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Lady Defenders dispatched the Morningside Mustangs in three straight games tonight in a GPAC conference match-up. Dordt led start to finish in the first game, taking a 7-0 lead to open the game before winning 30-18.

Game 2 featured five ties, the last coming at 10 all before Dordt pulled away late to win 30-23.

Morningside came out strong in the third game going up 4-0 to start. The Lady Defenders finally tied the score at 7 before taking the lead for good at 9-8. Dordt pushed their lead to as many as twelve points, 27-25 before finishing the game at 30-21.

Rachel Pontier led the Defenders with 13 kills while Tara De Boer added 12. Lindsey Van Wyk had 15 digs for Dordt. Morningside was led in kills by Lindsie Honsbruch with 9 and Kami Kloth with 7. Sam Vandekamp had 26 assists for the Mustangs.
