Dordt College Volleyball vs. Dakota Wesleyan

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The 21st rated Dordt College Lady Defender volleyball team beat Dakota Wesleyan in the Great Plains Athletic Conference opener for both teams. The Lady Defenders took the first game, which featured 13 ties, 30-28.
Game two was all Dakota Wesleyan early with Dordt coming back late to threaten but the Tigers held on to win 30-28. Game three belonged to Dordt with a 30-18 margin and the Lady Defenders won game four going away with a 30-25 decision. Dordt blew game four open with a 6-0 run to go from down 21-22 to lead 27-22.
The Lady Defenders were led by Tara De Boer and Rachel Pontier with 16 kills each. Lindsey Van Wyk and Rachel Van Beek each posted 10 kills with Alisa Den Hartog assisting on 49 kills and registering two ace serves. Tricia Beckering led Dordt with 24 digs.
Dakota Wesleyan got 12 kills from Pam Horner and 33 asssists from Molly Culhane. Jeana Simons led the Tigers with 13 digs.
