(Sioux Center, IA) The Dordt women's volleyball team lost in an upset today, as 17th ranked Hastings defeated Dordt who is ranked 8th, in three games. The 3-1 loss broke the Lady Defender's 25 home-match winning streak dating back to October of 1997. The game scores were 15-10, 15-17, 15-12, and 15-8. Andrea Johnson led the Lady Defenders in kills with 22, with Karen Netz close behind at 20 while Kim Van Dyken recorded 68 assists. Amanda Droog led the team from the service line, going 24-24 with an ace. Darci Bouma and Karen Netz were key for the defense, Bouma had 14 digs while Netz recorded eight block assists. The Broncos improve to 20-8 with the win, while Dordt falls to 22-5.
