Dordt College Softball vs. GPAC Tournament-Dakota Wesleyan

(Hastings, Nebraska) Dordt College was eliminated in its second game of the Great Plains Athletic Conference post-season tournament, an 8-2 loss at the hands of the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers.

Dordt took a 1-0 lead after Andrea Pierce singled in Sidney Larsen in the second inning. Dordt stranded two in the inning and also left two on in the first inning.

Dakota Wesleyan scored eight runs on six hits in the bottom of the second inning, chasing Dordt College starter Samantha Dunn in the process.

Larsen figured into a run in the third inning for Dordt when she doubled in Sidney Larsen. Dordt stranded two runners in the inning and later stranded two in the fifth before falling 8-2.

Dordt was outhit 9-7 with Dunn taking the loss and allowed seven runs on five hits. Sidney Larsen pitched five innings and allowed one run on four hits with four strikeouts.

Larsen and Michal Hoogland each had two hits. Andrea Pierce, Bethany Dykstra and Ashton Beaird all had one hit each.

Dakota Wesleyan's Jill Dickson pitched seven innings and got the win.

Dordt's season ends with a 16-28 record.
