Dordt College Softball vs. Northwestern

(Orange City, Iowa) Dordt College lost a 12-0 decision to Northwestern in game two of their doubleheader in Orange City, Iowa on Monday, April 8. The Defenders were unable to muster a hit in the loss while committing four errors that led to four unearned runs. Ashton Beaird was Dordt's only baserunner, reaching on a walk with two outs in the top of the fourth.

Brittany Kooiker had four strikeouts and five walks and took the loss.

Northwestern scored two runs each in the first two innings and the Raiders scored eight in the fourth. The game ended after the fifth due to the eight run difference rule.

Northwestern's Katie Vande Voort had five strikeouts and one walk while securing the no-hit shutout.

Dordt slips to 6-19 overall and 2-6 in the GPAC while Northwestern is 6-2 in the league and 16-15 overall.

Dordt is scheduled to host Dakota State on Friday and Midland on Saturday.
