Dordt College Softball vs. Sterling-Friends Classic

(Wichita, Kansas) Sterling College knocked out 16 hits for 15 runs and took advantage of four Dordt College errors on the way to a 15-8 win over Dordt on Saturday in Wichita, Kansas.

Dordt got at least a run in each of the five innings played.

Kacy Oberfoell had a solo homerun in teh first and Nicole Tate had a two run shot in the second inning. Oberfoell had her second homerun of the game in the third inning, clubbing a two run shot that kept the Defenders in reach after they had allowed five runs in the second inning.

Dordt was able to piece together two runs in the fourth inning on three hits but found themselves down 11-7 after the fourth frame. Sterling put together another four run frame in the fifth and a Lockhorst single in the fifth made it 15-8 for a final.

Oberfoell was 3-4 with two homeruns and four runs batted in. Tate was 2-3 with two runs batted in with her homerun and Lockhorst had a her second multiple hit game of the day while going 2-3.

Brittany Kooiker took the loss while walking five and struck out two while giving up six earned runs out of 15.
