Dordt College Softball vs. Dickinson State

(Tucson, Arizona) The Defender softball team took advantage of a six run fourth inning to score a 7-6 win over the Dickinson State Blue Hawks on Friday, March 16 in Arizona.
The Defenders gave up two runs in the second and another in the third before erupting for their six run frame. Haley Huisman had a two run double in the uprising and Ashley Viet had a two run single. Ashley Van Kooten added an rbi single. The Defenders could have had an even bigger inning but left the bases loaded when the inning came to a close.
Dickinson State scored a run in the bottom of the fourth and then got to withing 6-5 after six innings.
Dordt got a run for insurance in the top of the seventh, a run they would end up needing as Kacy Oberfoell singled in Kim Buyert. Dickinson State got one in the bottom of the seventh but stranded the winning run on base when the inning closed.
Sidney Larsen went seven innings and allowed six runs with two strikeouts and ten hits. Dordt was outhit 10-8 but took advantage of three Dickinson State errors.
Haley Huisman led the Dordt bats with two hits and six other players had one hit each--all of them singles.
