Dordt College Softball vs. Dakota Wesleyan

(Mitchell, South Dakota) Dordt College softball moved to three games above .500 in the GPAC season with a 4-0 win in game one of its doubleheader on the road against Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell, South Dakota.

Dordt got three runs in the fourth when Megan Huizenga belted a homerun, scoring Ashton Beaird and Kacy Oberfoell. Oberfoell had reached on a single and Beaird was on by virtue of a fielder's choice.

Dordt got a run in the top of the fifth with Bethany Dykstra knocking in Brittany Kooiker with a single. Kooiker had reached to lead the inning off with a single.

Dordt outhit the Tigers 6-5 with Obeforell getting the win on the mound while striking out three and walking three. Wesleyan stranded two runners in the first, fourth and sixth innings.

Dykstra and Huizenga accounted for four of Dordt's six hits with Huizenga's homerun accounting for the lone extra base hit of the game.
