Dordt College Softball vs. Doane

(Crete, Nebraska) Dordt College was limited to two hits in game two of their doubleheader with Doane in Crete, Nebraska and lost a 4-0 decision.

Dordt allowed two runs in the third and two in the fifth. Shelby Mendlik struck for a two run triple in the third and Mendlik produced a second run with a double in the fifth. The second run of the inning came in on a wild pitch later in the frame.

Dordt was outhit 8-2 and didn't have a base runner after the fourth inning when Megan Huizenga had a single. Dordt's other hit was a Brittany Kooiker single.

Sidney Larsen took the loss and allowed four runs on six hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Brittany Kooiker pitched a scoreless sixth inning, allowing two hits.

Dordt is 19-19 overall and 9-7 in the GPAC while Doane improves to 15-18 overall and 5-3 in the GPAC. Dordt will next face Dakota Wesleyan on Tuesday, April 24 in Mitchell, South Dakota.
