(Babson Park, Florida) The Dordt College Defender softball team lost a 2-1 decision to Webber International on Monday, March 15 in a game played in Florida. The Defenders surrendered one run in the first and third innings to trail 2-0. The Defenders sidestepped big trouble most of the afternoon was Webber International stranded runners in five of the six innings including the sixth frame when they left the bases loaded.

Dordt got on the board in the sixth inning when Amber Soodsma reached on an error and Sarah Seymour tripled in Soodsma to make it 2-1 but Dordt missed on an opportunity to tie the game when a ground out ended the frame.

Dordt stranded a runner at first in the seventh inning to end the game.

Dordt was outhit 11-1 in the loss with Brittany Kooiker scattering the basehits while walking no one and striking out none. One of the two runs scored by Webber was earned. Seymour had Dordt's only hit of the game.
