Dordt College Softball vs. Dana

(Blair, Nebraska) Dordt swept its second opponent in as many days with a 9-1 win over the Dana Vikings on Wednesday night in Blair, Nebraska. Dordt scored three in the first, two in the second and four in the fourth while allowing Dana just a run in the third for the five inning win.
Dordt had 11 singles and one homerun to account for 12 total hits. Dordt's three in the first came after Carla Vander Woude and Sarah Seymour singled and Kassandra Heynen clubbed a homerun for a 3-0 lead. Dordt's two in the second came when Vander Woude pushed Becca Hengeveld in with a single and Heynen singled in Soodsma for a 5-0 lead. Dordt strung together five hits in the fourth.
Amanda Nikkel was in control on the mound with three allowed, four strikeouts and one run allowed. Carla Vander Woude had three hits, two runs scored and two runs batted in. Heynen had four runs batted in and Megan Huizenga had two runs batted in. Amber Soodsma and Sarah Seymour each had two singles in Dordt's ninth conference win of the season.
Dordt wins their fourth game in a row and is now 9-7 in the conference with eight games to go and stand 13-15 overall. Dordt will face Concordia on Thursday, April 22 at 3:00.
