Dordt College Softball vs. Dana

(Blair, Nebraska) Dordt won its third game in a row with a 6-4 win over Dana in game one of their doubleheader in Blair, Nebraska. Dordt scored two in teh first inning on a Megan Huizenga single that scored one and Kassandra Heynen came across later in the inning on the first of three Dana errors.
Dordt got three in the fourth inning when Carla Vander Woude singled in a run with two outs and Amber Soodsma and Vander Woude both scored on an error charged to the Dana centerfielder on a fly ball by Sarah Seymour. Dordt tacked on a run for insurance in the fifth with Kaitlyn Lockhorst getting Huizenga across with a single.
Dana finally got to Amber Soodsma in the seventh with four runs on five hits, but they were never able to get the tying run on base and lost by the 6-4 margin despite outhitting Dordt 10-8.
Dordt's Soodsma earned her seventh win of the season with ten hits allowed and she struck out three. Soodsma was 2-4 at the plate with two runs scored and Megan Huizenga had a pair of hits as well with a run batted in and a run scored. All of Dordt's hits were singles.
