Dordt College Softball vs. MidAmerica Nazarene

(Olathe, Kansas) Dordt scored all seven of their runs in the sixth inning for to gain a split of their doubleheader with MidAmerica Nazarene in Olathe, Kansas on Friday afternoon.

The Defenders managed a split of their four games with York and MidAmerica Nazarene while handing the Lady Pioneers from MidAmerica Nazarene just their third loss of the season.

Dordt's seven runs in the sixth came after Jaclyn Ver Muln singled to lead off the inning and Mizza Ver Haar doubled to get two runners in scoring position. Kristin Santana got on with an error to load the bases and Rashelle Wilson sacrificed a run in. A Dorinda Hibma double plated two more runs and Amber Soodsma reached on another error. Megan Huizenga belted another double and Sarah Seymour plated another run with a double of her own. Seymour eventually got to third and scored on a passed ball to cap the scoring.

Sarah Visser got the win while scattering eight hits with six strikeouts.

Six different players had a hit a piece with five of those hits coming in the sixth frame. The sixth inning eruption broke up a no-hitter by MidAmerica's starting pitcher.

Dordt is scheduled to play at Briar Cliff on March 10 in a conference doubleheader in Sioux City, Iowa.
