Dordt College Softball vs. Sioux Falls
April 15, 2009
(Sioux Center, Iowa) Sarah Visser took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and the Dordt College Defenders made an unearned run in the bottom of the fourth stand up for their ninth win in a row, a 1-0 win over Sioux Falls in game two of their Great Plains Athletic Conference doubleheader with Sioux Falls in Sioux Center, Iowa on Wednesday, April 15.
Dordt got their run when Amber Soodsma reached on an error and stole second base. Two outs later Megan Huizenga connected for a single that sent Soodsma hone with the eventual game winner.
Meanwhile, Visser, a senior from Chandler, Arizona, was keeping Sioux Falls off balance, allowing no hits until Lindsey Johnson connected for a single with one out in the sixth. Visser allowed two walks and struck out seven in winning the pitcher's dual with Merissa Kringen. Kringen was equally impressive with just two hits allowed, one walk and five strikeouts. Dordt's two hits were singles by Huizenga and Sarah Seymour.
