Dordt College Softball vs. Waldorf

(Tucson, Arizona) The Dordt College Defender softball team was on the winning side of a 19-0, five inning decision over Waldorf on Monday, March 17 in Tucson, Arizona. The win, Dordt's third of the season, came as the Defenders slugged out 17 hits as a team and Amber Soodsma threw a one-hitter for the Defenders.
Soodsma led the Dordt offense with Sarah Seymour as they both knocked out three hits. Seymour plated three runs batted in while Soodsma had a double to go with two singles. Sarah Visser had a two run homerun for the Defenders while Melissa Ver Haar had a single and a double. Suzi Butier knocked in three with two hits and Jenna Vander Woude also has a pair of base knocks.
The Defenders are now 3-8 and will play a pair of games against Lubbock Christian (Texas) and Triton (Illinois) on Tuesday, March 18. Triton is a junior college and the game will not count towards standings or statistics.
