Dordt College Softball vs. Dana

(Blair, Nebraska) Dordt College lost a 5-4 decision to the Dana Vikings in game two of their doubleheader on Tuesday night in Blair, Nebraska. The Vikings plated a run in the bottom of the seventh with one out to end the game.
Dordt re-grouped from a difficult game one loss to score three in the first inning when Sarah Seymour doubled in Becca Hengeveld and Jaclyn Ver Mulm. Seymour then came in to score on a Kassandra Heynen single. Dordt then stacked themselves to a 4-0 lead in the third when Ver Mulm walked and Heynen sacrificed her to second with one out. Amber Soodsma then delivered a double to plate Dordt's fourth run of the game.
Dana came up with two runs in the third and another two in the fourth to tie the game. After two and half scoreless innings the Vikings plated the winning run after a walk opened the inning and a single moved the runner to third after a stolen base. A squeeze play ended it with one out for the Dana win.
Dordt outhit the Vikings 6-4. Dordt had six different players with hits including Seymour's and Soodsma's doubles. Hengeveld, Ver Mulm, Heynen and Sarah Visser all had singles. Visser takes the loss, working six and a third innings with five runs allowed--three of them earned. She walked two and struck out four.
Dordt is 5-31 overall and 2-20 in the GPAC. Dana ends the season at 21-16 and 15-9 entering GPAC tournament play on Thursday.
