Dordt College Softball vs. Hastings

(Hastings, Nebraska) The Dordt College Defender softball team lost a 16-3 decision in game two of their doubleheader in Hastings, Nebraska. The loss drops the Defenders to 0-4 for the season in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. Hastings got their 16 runs despite just ten hits and took advantage of nine Dordt College errors.
Dordt's Kassandra Heynen had a pair of singles while Suzi Butier had a triple and Jaclyn Ver Mulm a double. Ver Mulm knocked in a run and Amanda Nikkel scored a run after a walk. Heynen also had a run scored and an rbi and Butier had a run scored.
Sarah Visser took the loss, giving up 13 runs--five of them earned and walked four and struck out one.
Dordt is now 0-4 in the GPAC and will travel to Sioux Falls on Monday, April 7 for a doubleheader. Hastings improves to 16-13 overall and 8-4 in the GPAC.
