Dordt College Softball vs. Cornerstone

(Tucson, Arizona) The Dordt College Defender softball team absorbed a 15-6 loss to Cornerstone (Michigan) on Saturday in Tucson, Arizona in five innings. The Defenders got a pair of runs batted in each from Jaclyn Ver Mulm and Dorinda Hibma while Carissa Hondred absorbed the loss on the mound.

Dordt cut an early 8-0 lead down to 8-6 when they scored all six of their runs in the fourth inning but were done in with errors in the fourth inning with Cornerstone getting seven runs across for the final margin of 15-6.

Hondred allowed 13 hits and ten runs--none of which were earned before giving way to Amber Soodsma in relief. Suzi Butier had a double for the Defenders.

Dordt had seven hits in the loss and stand 2-6.
