Dordt College Softball vs. Dakota Wesleyan

(Sioux Center, Iowa) Dordt matched up in a double header against Dakota Wesleyan in Friday night but came up short in the first of two, 9-3.

Dakota got things started off early scoring 3 in the 1st, but Dordt matched it in the 2nd when Sarah Boer teed off for a 3-run shot to deep left. Dordt struggled from there on while Wesleyan scored 6 more and held the lead to win it, 9-3.

Dakota Wesleyan scored 9 runs on 10 hits and made 1 error while Dordt scored 3 runs on 3 hits and committed 3 errors. Amber Daane, Sarah Boer and Beth Van Maanen accounted for the 3 hits while Boer had all 3 rbis. Carissa Van Gorp pitched 4 innings giving up 9 hits and only 2 earned runs while Prins finished up the game giving up 1 hit and 1 earned run.

Dordt falls to 2-17 in the conference and 5-27 overall. Dakota Wesleyan rises to an even .500 in the conference at 9-9 and improves their overall record to 12-19.
