Dordt College Softball vs. Northwestern

(Orange City, Iowa) The Dordt College Defenders fell by a final score of 8-0 in game one of their doubleheader with Northwestern on Monday night in Orange City. The Defenders never surrendered more than two runs in an inning but Northwestern scored in five of the six innings they batted in on the way to their 26th win of the season.

Dordt had two hits against Northwestern starter Megan McHugh with Jaclyn Ver Mulm and Amanda Pothoven both registering singles. Tessa Prins worked five and a third innings, allowing eleven hits, eight runs--four of which were earned with two walks and two strikeouts. McHugh surrendered the two hits and had one walk and 11 strikeouts.
