Dordt College Softball vs. Oklahoma Baptist

(Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) Oklahoma Baptist made it a sweep of the Dordt College Defender softball team today with a 7-2 win in game two of the twinbill. The Defenders allowed one run in the first, two in the second and one more in the third before they mustered the offense for a pair of runs. Amanda Pothoven singled and stole second and was knocked in when Mandy Visser singled her in. Visser than took second base and Susi Butier reached on a walk. Sitting on a big inning, the Defenders were doubled up to wipe Butier off the bases and a Beth Davelaar two out single pushed Visser across.
Dordt was outhit 8-6 in the game and committed two errors. The Defenders also stranded six baserunners to Oklahoma Baptist's 4. Amber Daane, Melissa Ver Haar, Amanda Pothoven, Mandy Visser, Susi Butier and Beth Davelaar each had a single to account for Dordt's six hits.
Tessa Prins takes the loss for the Defenders, allowing eight hits, seven runs-four of which were earned, one walk and struck out one.
Dordt is now 0-2 while Oklahoma Baptist improves to 15-9. Dordt faces Texas Wesleyan in a doubleheader Wednesday, March 21 in Dallas, Texas.
