Dordt College Softball vs. Sioux Falls-GPAC Tournament

(Hastings, Nebraska) Dordt College was eliminated by the Sioux Falls Cougars 3-2 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference post-season tournament in Hastings, Nebraska on Thursday, May 4.

The Lady Defenders took an early 1-0 lead but Sioux Falls came back for the 3-2 win.

Dordt scored their first run with two outs in the third inning when Amber Daane doubled and scored on a basehit by Amanda Pothoven. Daane later knocked in a run with a single in the seventh inning and two outs after Cara Mulder doubled. The Lady Defenders stranded the tying run at second when the third out was recorded to end the game.

Daane was 3-4 with a double and two singles while Pothoven had two singles. Mandy Visser also had two singles for the Lady Defenders. Dordt stranded eight runners over the course of the game.

Mandy Visser gave up six hits and walked five while taking the loss.
