Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Midland

The Dordt College women lost a 3-0 decision to the Midland (Neb.) Warriors in Saturday’s conference opener.

Midland struck immediately with a first-minute goal from sophomore Amanda Nutsch – her second goal of the season. The Warriors added another first-half tally in the 37th minute when senior Celia Williams beat senior keeper Katie Kortman on a breakaway.

Midland put the game out of reach with a 65th-minute strike from senior Kelsie Schmitz.

Dordt managed five shots on goal, but couldn’t beat the goalkeeping tandem of sophomores Megan Manley and Elizabeth Edwards. The Warriors recorded nine shots on goal of their own.

Dordt fell to 0-9-0 (0-1-0) with the loss. Midland improved to 4-3-3 (2-0-0).

The Defenders take the field again on Tuesday with a road contest at Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.).
