Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Concordia

(Sioux Center, Iowa) Two late goals by the Dordt College Defender women's soccer team closed the gap but the home team ran out of time in falling 3-2 to the Concordia Bulldogs in the GPAC opener for both teams.
Concordia scored the first three goals of the game with Rachel Mussell scoring off an assist by Emily Fleming in the 10th minute for a 1-0 advantage. Mussel then scored again in the 69th minute for a 2-0 lead. Mussell factored into the third Concordia goal in the 74th minute when she assisted Melissa Stine for a 3-0 lead.
Dordt got on the board in the 81st minute with Marissa Le Duc scoring on a shot over the keeper and Katie Heynen got one past the keeper in the 85th minute off an assist by Allison Hogan off a corner kick. The Defenders ran out of time, losing 3-2.
Dordt was outshot 12-5 overall but managed to put four shots on goal to five for the visitors. Katie Kortman made two saves in goal for the Defenders before being inserted into the field for the final 21-plus minutes. Jessice Clifford made two saves in goal for the Bulldogs who are now 3-3 overall and 1-0 in the conference. Dordt slips to 0-1 and 1-5-2 overall. Dordt faces Northwestern on Wednesday in Orange City.
