Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Mount Mercy

(Cedar Rapids, Iowa) Dordt College came from behind twice to force a 2-2, double overtime tie with Mount Mercy on Wednesday night in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in women's soccer action.

Mount Mercy's Kandace Kiernan scored the first of her two goals in the 13th minute for a 1-0 lead. Meghan Warners scored the equalizer off a corner kick in the 26th minute and that's where the score stood into halftime.

Kiernan found the goal again in the 76th minute, one of five shots she had on goal and nine shots total, to give the hosts a 2-1 advantage.

Down 2-1, the Defenders tied the game and sent it to overtime with a Sarah Byron goal in the 88th minute.

Neither team was able to net the game winner in two extra sessions as both teams took their second tie of year.

Both teams had 17 shots and both teams had eight on goal. Katie Kortman recorded six saves for the Defenders who will host Jamestown on Saturday afternoon, September 15 at 3:00.
