Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Midland-GPAC Quarterfinals

(Fremont, Nebraska) For 110 minutes the Dordt College Defenders and Midland Warriors played scoreless soccer in the quarterfinal round of the GPAC post-season tournament. With the contest going to five penalty kicks each to decide who would advance, the Warriors got the ball into the net three times to Dordt's two.

Dordt managed to battle to the tie despite getting outshot 6-2 on goal and 12-6 overall. The Defenders had to withstand a second half where Midland put four shots on frame with Katie Kortman rising to the challenge to keep the shutout intact.

In the shootout Morgan Meissner matched Midland's Kelise Schmitz on the first attempt. Midland went up 2-1 on a goal by Celia Williams and the hosts got up 3-1 on a goal by Josi Hamill in the shootout. Dordt managed to get back to within 3-2 in the third round of the shootout with Rindy De Nooy getting the shot past Beth Russell. Neither team was able to score on their final two shots and that's how the match ended.

Midland advances in the GPAC Tournament. The game is scored as a tie with Midland advancing to the semifinal round.

Dordt ends its season with a 9-9-1 overall record.
