(Crete, NE) A goal in each half by Doane's Courtney Richards was the difference in the Dordt Defenders' loss to the Tigers in Crete, Nebraska on Saturday evening in Great Plains Athletic Conference play. The Defenders dropped the 2-0 decision with two games to go in conference regular-season play.
Richards got her first goal in the 41st minute and then provided insurance for the Tigers with a goal in the 80th minute, allowing Doane to improve to 9-3-2 overall and 7-1 in the GPAC.
Dordt was outshot 9-4 on goal with Kelly Smies getting two of the shots on frame. Doane peppered the Defenders with 23 total shots and Dordt had six. Katie Kortman had seven saves in goal for the Defenders who are now 5-3 in the conference and 8-8 overall.
Dordt is scheduled to face Morningside on Tuesday night, October 25 in Sioux City before concluding the regular season at home against Hastings on Saturday, October 29.
