Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Briar Cliff

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender women's soccer team won a tight 1-0 decision over the Briar Cliff Chargers on Tuesday afternoon in Sioux Center. The win improves Dordt's GPAC record to 5-2 and keeps them squarely in the hunt for a top-four finish and a home game in the post-season GPAC Tournament with three games to go.
Dordt got the game winner in the 22nd minute when Morgan Meissner got one in off a corner kick sequence with Allison Hogan providing the assist.
Dordt dominated play with 14 shots on goal to four for the Chargers. Katie Kortman recorded four saves in the win as the Defenders moved a game above .500 through 15 games.
Briar Cliff falls to 1-6 in the conference and 4-10-1 overall. Kalynn Sortino recorded 13 saves in goal for the Chargers.
Dordt will travel to face Doane on Saturday, October 22 in conference play at Crete, Nebraska.
