Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Midland University

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College women's soccer team bounced back from a road loss to Dakota Wesleyan on Wednesday night to beat Midland in the second overtime of their match by a 2-1 count. The match was played Saturday afternoon, October 15 in Sioux Center.
Dordt surrendered the first goal of the game, a Dominique Romero unassisted goal in the 55th minute, for a 1-0 Midland lead.
Dordt was equal to the task, getting a Morgan Meissner counter in the 72nd minute off an assist from Allison Hogan that started with a Dordt corner kick that Meissner headed in.
The two teams played even for the rest of regulation and the first overtime until Hogan scored on an unassisted goal in the 106th minute to end it. Midland outshot Dordt 3-1 in the second overtime until Hogan took her shot.
Both teams had four shots on goal with Dordt's Katie Kortman making three saves and Beth Russell had two for Midland.
Dordt is now 4-2 in the conference and 7-7 overall and stand 6-1 in games played in Sioux Center. Midland slips to 5-2 in the GPAC and 8-6 overall. Dordt will host Briar Cliff on Tuesday in the next outing for the Defenders. Dordt has four games remaining, all in conference action.
