Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Dakota Wesleyan

(Sioux Center, Iowa) Steph Cooper knocked in a goal that was just shy of the goal line in the final minute of double overtime to give the Dordt Defender women's soccer team a 1-0 win over Dakota Wesleyan on Tuesday afternoon in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Both teams had missed opportunities with Dakota Wesleyan banging a couple off the post and Dordt had a missed shot in regulation on an open net. Wesleyan had five shots on goal to Dordt's six with Wesleyan firing a total of 22 shots and Dordt nine. Four of Wesleyan's shots on goal came in the first half, one in the second and none in either of the overtime sessions.
Dordt's defense recorded its third straight shutout with Katie Kortman making five saves in goal for the Defenders who are now 2-0-1 in the league while Dakota Wesleyan falls to 2-1 and 6-1 overall. The Tigers got five saves from Danielle Richardson. Dordt stands 6-1-1 this season and will face Nebraska Wesleyan on the road this Saturday in GPAC action.
