Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Midland Lutheran

(Sioux Center) The Dordt College Defender women's soccer team lost a 2-1 decision to Midland Lutheran in the Great Plains Athletic Conference regular season finale for both teams. The loss drops Dordt College into third place in the standings and they stand third in the post-season tournament pairings which will be released late tonight.
Midland Lutheran controlled play early in the game and scored on a shot by Amanda Grable in the 19th minute of play for a 1-0 lead. Dordt got the equalizer in the 55th minute when Noelle Kreykes headed a crossing pass from Kate Du Mez into the goal for a 1-1 tie. Less than ten minutes later the Warriors got the game winner with Natasha Heil knocking it in on a two on one as Dordt tried to clear the ball and failed.
Dordt out shot the visitors 18-10 with Midland Lutheran putting seven shots on frame to Dordt's five. Steph Goslinga recorded five saves in goal for the Defenders.
Dordt finishes the regular season with a 9-2-1 record while Midland Lutheran improves to 10-2 in the league and 14-3 overall. Dordt slips to 15-2-1 overall. Dordt will play in the quarterfinal round of the GPAC post season tournament on Thursday, November 5 against a foe to be determined. The quarterfinal round game will be in Sioux Center.
