Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Morningside

(Sioux City, IA) The Dordt College Defender women's soccer team improved to 15-1-1 overall and a 9-1-1 conference mark with a 3-1 win over the Morningside Mustangs on Tuesday night in Sioux City, Iowa.
The two teams played scoreless soccer for for the first 34 minutes before Morgan Rodenburgh found the net off an assist by Kate Du Mez for a 1-0 lead. The lead stuck into the second half when the Defenders got back to back goals within a minute from Amanda den Dulk in the 58th minute and Rodenburgh in the 59th. Noelle Kreykes assisted on the Rodenburgh goal.
The hosts avoided the shut out with a goal in the 79th minute by Emily Heger.
Dordt outshot the Mustangs 17-9 and put nine shots on goal to Morningside's four. Steph Goslinga recorded three saves for the Defenders.
Morningside is now 2-8-1 in the league and 3-13-1 overall. Dordt will face Midland Lutheran on Saturday in Sioux Center, Iowa. A win on Saturday secures at least second place for the Defenders.
