Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Sioux Falls

(Sioux Falls, SD) The Dordt College Defender women's soccer team solidified their standing in the Great Plains Athletic Conference with a 2-1 win over the Sioux Falls Cougars on Wednesday night in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Dordt got a pair of goals from Kate Du Mez, the second one a solo effort, in the first half for a 2-0 lead. Sioux Falls was able to counter with a goal later in the half. The two teams played a scoreless second half with the Defenders holding on for their 13th win of the season and the seventh win of the conference season with three games remaining.

Dordt outshot the Cougars 19-4 with eight of the shots on goal. Steph Goslinga made two saves in goal for the Defenders.

Sioux Falls is now 5-3-1 and 8-6-1 overall. Dordt stands 7-1-1 and 13-1-1. Dordt will host Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 in conference play.
