Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Mount Marty

(Sioux Center) The Dordt College Defender women's soccer team improved to 7-1 this season with a 5-0 win over Mount Marty in Sioux Center Tuesday afternoon, September 22.

Dordt dominated the game from start to finish with 35 shots--17 of them on goal while Mount Marty did not get a shot off in the contest. Dordt started the scoring with a Kate Du Mez goal off a penalty kick in the fifth minute and Lindsay Baker scored on a dribble down the middle of the Mount Marty defense to make it 2-0 in the 7th minute. Elise Wedel made it 3-0 in the 11th minute off an assist by Noelle Kreykes and that's where the score stood at halftime.

Kristi Ouwinga scored off a corner kick from Du Mez in the 61st minute of play and Lexi Elgersma capped the scoring with a goal from Du Mez in the 71st minute of play for the final of 5-0.

Dordt's goal keepers did not register a save in the win with Steph Goslinga and Rosalyn De Pooter splitting time.

Dordt is 7-1 overall and 2-1 in the GPAC while Mount Marty falls to 1-4 and 0-3. Dordt will resume play in the conference on Saturday, September 26 when they host Concordia at 1:00.
