Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Doane

(Crete, NE) The Dordt College Defender women's soccer team earned a 3-1 win over the Doane Tigers in Great Plains Athletic Conference play in Crete, Nebraska Saturday night.

Ally Tamerius scored first for Doane on an assist by Jayne Wagner in the 13th minute. Dordt struck back with a goal by Kate Du Mez, her tenth of the season, off an assist by Kristi Ouwinga in the 18th minute. The score remained tied until the 70th minute Lindsay Baker banged home a goal off an assist by Kate Du Mez. Dordt got a goal for insurance in the 86th minute when a shot by Morgan Rodenburgh was put into the net as Doane tried to clear it. The goal was ruled an own-goal.

Dordt outshot the hosts 27-16 with 12 on goal to six for the Tigers. Steph Goslinga recorded five saves in goal for the Defenders are now 1-1 in the GPAC.
