Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Bemidji State (Dordt/Northwestern Pizza Ranch Classic)

(Sioux Center) For the second day in a row the Dordt Defender women's soccer team earned a 1-0 win over a non-conference foe. One day after winning in the 107th minute to break a scoreless tie, the Defender women got a penalty kick by Kate Du Mez (Senior; Brookfield, Wisconsin) in the 51st minute to give the Defenders all the scoring they needed in beating Bemidji State (Minnesota).
An evenly played game, the Defenders outshot the Beavers 10-9 with Steph Goslinga (Junior; Orange City, Iowa) recording seven saves in goal for the Defenders while Dordt had a total of five shots on goal.
Dordt is now 3-0 for the young season and will face the College of Saint Mary in Sioux Center on Wednesday, September 9 at 3:00. Bemidji State, an NCAA Division II member, went 1-1 at the Northwestern/Dordt Pizza Ranch Classic, beating Northwestern on Friday in Orange City.
