Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Sioux Falls-GPAC Quarterfinals

(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender women's soccer team advanced in Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament play with a 2-1 win over the Sioux Falls Cougars on a windy Tuesday afternoon in Sioux Center. The Defenders ran their winning streak to 16 with the victory.
Sioux Falls scored the opener on a Kaye Donnelly shot at the 7:49 mark of the game from the left side. Dordt got the equalizer with a Lindsay Landhuis goal at the 37:50 mark with an assist from Kate DuMez.
Tied 1-1, the Defenders scored the eventual game winner on a Kirsten Monsma header off an assist by Landhuis at the 56:15 mark.
Dordt limited Sioux Falls to six shots with four of them on frame while the Defenders had seven shots, five of them on goal. Jenna Noteboom recorded three saves in goal for the Defenders.
The Defenders will host a semifinal round game on Saturday, November 8 at noon in Sioux Center, Iowa against the winner of the Morningside-Doane contest played at 7:00, Tuesday, November 4.
