(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College women clinched the GPAC regular season title and number one conference seed this evening by knocking off Morningside by a score of 3-2 in overtime.

Morningside midfielder Lindsay Neste led out the scoring in the 30th minute netting a ball hit from 12-15 yards out. Dordt answered right back when sophomore striker Noelle Kreykes (St. John, IN) scored in the 36th minute from close range with a big scramble in front of the Morningside goal.

The teams went in to half time with the score knotted at 1-1 but it didn't take long for Morningside to get another tally when Maggie Kukuk scored less than a minute in to the second half to give the Mustangs a 2-1 lead.

Although the Dordt women had a number of opportunities to equalize in the second half it took a goal from junior defensive player Kristi Ouwinga (Byron Center, MI)with only a little more than 5 minutes remaining to send the teams into overtime. Ouwinga's goal came from a strike outside the 18 box that ended up in the top left as the keeper was unable to play the ball cleanly.

Dordt did not take long to end the match in dramatic fashion as junior midfielder Kate DuMez (Brookfield, WI) sent a nice through ball in to freshman striker Rindy DeNooy (Sioux Center, IA) who carried the ball in and then knocked the ball into the Morningside goal off the far left post. The goal came less than a minute in to the first overtime period.

Dordt freshman goalkeeper Jenna Noteboom (Ireton, IA) had 4 saves in the contest while the Morningside keeper had 7. Dordt outshot the Mustangs 17-10 in the contest.

Dordt will play it's second of three matches on tap this week when they face the University of Sioux Falls on Thursday, October 30 at 2:00 pm at home. The Thursday match up was originally scheduled for last week Wednesday but was postponed due to inclement weather.
