(Sioux City, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender soccer team ran their winning streak to nine and their Great Plains Athletic Conference record to 7-0 with a 2-0 win over the Briar Cliff Chargers on Tuesday, October 7 in a game played at Sioux City, Iowa.

Kate Du Mez (Junior; Brookfield, Wisconsin) found the net in the second minute for the opening goal and Rindy De Nooy (Freshman; Sioux Center, Iowa) gave the Defenders a cushion with a goal in the 15th minute. Both goals were unassisted.

Dordt's defense limited the hosts to ten shots on goal and Jenna Noteboom (Freshman; Ireton, Iowa) made all the saves as the Defenders improved to 9-1 this season. Dordt mustered 14 shots with 11 of them on goal in keeping their conference record spotless.

Dordt has outscored their opponents 25-6 during their winning streak. Du Mez has ten goals ths season and has 28 for her career--good for sixth all-time.

Dordt will travel to Jamestown, North Dakota to play Jamestown College this Saturday, October 11 in a non-conference match at 1:00. Five conference games remain for the Defenders when they return from Jamestown.
