Dordt College Women's Soccer vs. Northwestern

(Orange City, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender women's soccer team ran their winning streak to seven with a 4-1 win against Northwestern in Great Plains Athletic Conference play at Orange City, Iowa, Wednesday night.
The Defenders scored three in the first half and then tacked on a fourth in the second half before Northwestern scored to avert the shutout.
Kate Du Mez scored in the tenth minute to break the ice off an assist by Noelle Kreykes. Three short minutes later Lindsay Landhuis converted in for a 2-0 lead on an unassisted goal. Du Mez found the net for the second time in the 29th minute to give Dordt a 3-0 advantage at halftime.
Landhuis scored her second goal of the game off an assist by Kreykes in the 49th minute to complete the Dordt scoring. Leah Aragon scored the lone goal of the game for the Red Raiders in the 61st minute to make the final 4-1.
Dordt outshot the Raiders 19-5, getting nine of the shots on frame. Northwestern put four of the shots close with Jenna Noteboom recording three saves for the Defenders. Wendy Hofmeyer takes the loss for Northwestern while making five saves.
Dordt takes a 7-1 record into their contest with the Dana Vikings on Saturday. Dordt is 5-0 in conference play. Gametime is at 1:00.
