(Seward, Nebraska) The Dordt College Defender women's soccer team won their sixth game in a row with a 2-1 decision over the Concordia Bulldogs in conference play at Seward, Nebraska on Saturday afternoon.
The Defenders out shot the hosts 13-9. Both teams put eight shots on goal.
The Defenders got the first goal of the game in the 21st minute when Noelle Kreykees headed in a cross from Sarah Sikkema for the 1-0 lead that held up until halftime.
Dordt then put a goal up in the second half when Lindsay Landhuis scored on a breakaway, getting it around the keeper when she got tied up trying to change direction. The Landhuis goal came in the 78th minute.
Concordia did get on the board to prevent the shutout with a Kaela Geyer goal in the 84th minute.
Dordt's Jenna Noteboom made seven saves in goal while Sara Webb had five saves for the hosts.
Dordt improves to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in league play with a game against Northwestern on Wednesday. Concordia drops to 2-7 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
