(Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt College Defender women's soccer team improved to 3-1 this season with a 2-1 Great Plains Athletic Conference win over Dakota Wesleyan on Wednesday in Sioux Center, Iowa.
The Defenders surrendered the first goal of the game when Ellie Peterson scored in the sixth minute unassisted for a 1-0 lead.
Dordt got on the board in the 27th minute when Rindy De Nooy headed a corner kick in off a deflection and the Defenders' Noelle Kreykes got the game winner off an assist by Lindsay Landhuis in the 62nd minute.
Jenna Noteboom worked in goal for the Defenders and registered six saves and one goal allowed. Dordt outshot the Tigers 8-7.
The Defenders are 1-0 in GPAC play while Wesleyan is now 0-1 and 3-4 overall. Dordt will host Doane on Saturday at 1:00 in their final game of a five game homestand to start the season.
